Skål ta mig fan!

Karin and I bought this bowl at Putman's Pantry, Home of the Ice Cream Smörgåsbord, in Danvers, MA over 15 years ago.

We laughed about how Americans couldn't spell Bon Appétit correctly. We've used it frequently over the years, usually to served chips or some other kind of snack when we have guests, or to store leftovers in the fridge, as we did recently with the beef stew I made for my mother in law.

When I took the bowl out for my lunch today I said to Karin, "maybe we've been wrong all these years. Maybe Bone Appetite is just the plural form of Bon Appétit." So I brought up Google translate on my cell phone. And as soon as I could confirm that Bone Appetite is not the plural form of Bon Appétit it hit me. It is not spelled incorrectly. It's not French. And it's not for humans. It's English, It's spelled correctly. It's a dog bowl.

Apologies to all guests who in polite silence avoided eating the potato chips we've served over the years. PS we'll keep serving potato chips to guests in this bowl but in the future we'll quiz them about the spelling.
